Hello,
My name is Anne-Marie Boisvert (pronounced Bwah-vair) and
I paint mainly because I enjoy it.
I became interested in art at a young age. Early on in life,
my spare time was devoted to drawing, collaging, modeling,
and making various crafts. Being somewhat of a homebody, I
enjoyed staying at home to create artwork and practical crafts.
My interest in fine arts developed later on when a friend
of the family introduced me to the joy of painting.

From that moment on, I developed a strong, growing desire
to learn this form of art. To fulfill this need, I enrolled
in several drawing and painting classes held by artists with
various artistic styles.
My thirst for knowledge also led me to experiment with watercolours,
ink, acrylics, gouache, pastels, and clay.
Proud of the experience I had acquired over the years, I
began sharing my passion for art by teaching oil painting
and decorative painting to teenagers and adults while working
for an employer who was devoted to promoting decorative arts.
Part of my work involved writing informative texts related
to painting and creating personalized designs on a variety
of surfaces. Since these humble beginnings, I have been an
active member of several artistic associations and a voluntary
participant in various events.
My art is unpretentious and void of political ideology. What
I seek above all is to convey a certain fondness for and draw
careful attention to beauty. My work is meant not to overwhelm,
but to warm the heart and eyes or, as Jean-Paul Ladouceur
puts it, “…to please the eye…”
I hope that my paintings, done mostly for pleasure, reflect
my personality and are appreciated by others. This, in itself,
rewards me with a feeling of accomplishment and fulfilment.
Sincerely yours,
Anne-Marie Boisvert
